Editorial Policy
Energy Sustainability is committed to maintaining a fair, transparent, and academically rigorous editorial process. The journal publishes high-quality scholarly works in the fields of sustainable energy systems, renewable energy, power systems, smart grids, microgrids, energy storage, energy efficiency, mechanical and thermal energy systems, energy economics, energy policy, sustainability assessment, and digital technologies for energy applications.
All manuscripts submitted to Energy Sustainability are first evaluated by the editorial team to assess their relevance to the journal’s aims and scope, originality, manuscript quality, formatting compliance, ethical standards, and potential contribution to the field. Manuscripts that do not meet the basic requirements, fall outside the journal scope, or show serious ethical concerns may be returned to authors or rejected before peer review.
Manuscripts that pass the initial editorial screening will be assigned to qualified editors and reviewers for double-blind peer review. Editorial decisions are based on the manuscript’s originality, scientific quality, methodological soundness, clarity of presentation, ethical compliance, reviewer recommendations, and relevance to sustainable energy research and practice.
The journal ensures that editorial decisions are made independently and objectively. Editors must avoid conflicts of interest and treat all submitted manuscripts as confidential documents. Reviewers are expected to provide fair, constructive, timely, and confidential evaluations. The final decision regarding acceptance, revision, or rejection is the responsibility of the editor, based on the peer-review reports and editorial assessment.
Energy Sustainability does not tolerate plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, duplicate publication, inappropriate authorship, or any form of publication misconduct. The journal may use similarity-checking tools to support the editorial screening process. Manuscripts that violate publication ethics may be rejected, corrected, retracted, or otherwise handled according to the journal’s ethics and publication policies.
The editorial team is committed to improving the quality, visibility, and international standards of the journal through responsible peer review, ethical publishing practices, publication regularity, clear author guidelines, and continuous improvement of editorial management.
