Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to Energy Sustainability undergo a peer-review process to ensure academic quality, originality, relevance, and scientific validity.

Initial Editorial Screening.

After submission, the manuscript will be checked by the editorial team for:

  1. Suitability with the journal focus and scope;\
  2. Completeness of manuscript structure;
  3. Compliance with author guidelines and journal template;
  4. Originality and similarity level;
  5. Ethical compliance, where applicable. 

Manuscripts that do not meet the basic requirements may be returned to the authors for correction or rejected before peer review.

 

Double-Blind Peer Review

Energy Sustainability applies a double-blind peer-review process, in which the identities of authors and reviewers are kept confidential. Each manuscript will be reviewed by at least two independent reviewers who have expertise relevant to the manuscript topic.

 

Reviewer Evaluation Criteria

Reviewers are requested to evaluate the manuscript based on:

  1. Relevance to the journal scope;
  2. Originality and novelty;
  3. Clarity of research objectives;
  4. Appropriateness of methodology;
  5. Validity of data analysis and results;
  6. Quality of discussion and interpretation;
  7. Contribution to the field of energy sustainability;
  8. Clarity of writing and organization;
  9. Accuracy and relevance of references;
  10. Compliance with research and publication ethics.

 

Editorial Decision

Based on the reviewers’ comments and recommendations, the editor may make one of the following decisions:

  • Accept Submission
  • Revisions Required
  • Resubmit for Review
  • Decline Submission 

The final decision is made by the Editor-in-Chief or the assigned editor.

 

Revision Process

Authors are required to revise the manuscript according to the reviewers’ and editors’ comments. A revised manuscript should be accompanied by a response to reviewers explaining how each comment has been addressed.

Final Acceptance

A manuscript will be accepted for publication only after the editorial team confirms that the manuscript has met the academic, ethical, and formatting standards of Energy Sustainability.

Peer Review Integrity

Reviewers and editors must maintain confidentiality and objectivity throughout the review process. Any conflict of interest must be declared. The journal does not allow unethical practices such as plagiarism, data fabrication, duplicate submission, citation manipulation, or biased review.
